He was one of the few elders who kept up with the times, always had a progressive attitude, stood for his principles, a great mathematician and withstood every single problem life threw at him. One of the few people I found solace talking to when debating issues of jobs and education, one of the few I would always look towards for his blessings. I still remember the day I jumped over the compound wall to retrieve his old nameplate on the old house. Even after I left Chennai, he was always in touch via email providing moral support, advice and rejoicing in my accomplishments. I wish I had seen him one last time in person before he went to a better place.
